A Japanese Head Spa, also known as a head spa or scalp spa, is a popular wellness treatment in Japan that focuses on the health and relaxation of the scalp and hair.

This spa treatment combines elements of traditional Japanese massage techniques with modern hair care to promote relaxation, improve scalp health, and enhance hair growth. Here are some key features of a Japanese Head Spa:

  1. Scalp Diagnosis and Massaging: We firstly perform a scalp diagnosis using a microscope. The treatment then typically starts with a thorough cleansing of the scalp using special shampoos and conditioners. This is followed by a detailed and often invigorating scalp massage.
  2. Use of Specialised Products: Specialised hair and scalp products may be used during the treatment to address specific issues like dry scalp, and dandruff.
  3. Relaxation and Stress Relief: The massage is not only beneficial for scalp health but is also designed to relieve stress and tension.
  4. Health Benefits: Regular treatments can lead to healthier hair and scalp, possibly reducing hair loss and promoting hair growth. The improved blood circulation to the scalp is also believed to help in detoxifying the skin.
  5. Ambiance: The environment during a head spa session is typically serene, with soft lighting and calming music, which contributes to the overall therapeutic experience.

Frequently Asked questions

We can only accommodate one guest at once in our private room for our Head Spa.

Yes, men can have a head spa. Our services are available for all clients.

No, clients with hair extensions cannot have a head spa. This is because the treatment may cause the hair to become very tangled, and we cannot risk damaging the extensions.

All of our ingredients are safe for any kind of treated hair! However, if you had recently done any kind of chemical services within a week before your Head Spa appointment, there is a chance that the color/keratin may lift during our detoxing process. Therefore, we recommend customers to wait at least a week after any kind of hair treatment before receiving a Head Spa. We also recommend waiting at least a week after having a Head spa before doing any kind of chemical services. You wouldn’t want to apply chemicals to a freshly cleaned scalp!

Our specialist is experienced with all types of hair from thin & fragile, thick & coarse, wavy, curly, porous, to even bald! However, the hair itself is actually not so much of a concern as we will be primarily focusing on the scalp during the Head Spa. At the end of the day, the Head Spa is a scalp treatment. We only ask you to make sure that we have proper access to the scalp. We cannot perform services on customers with extensions, braids, or sew-ins as these obstruct access to the scalp and pores.

Our Head Spa uses beautiful Oribe products which have no nasty ingredients in it and also the sense is really soft. Therefore, it is completely safe for pregnant customers. However, some guests might have sensitive scalp or become sensitive with smells. Another concern would be that we require guests to lay completely flat on your back during the whole duration of the service. If this is something you are unable to do, then it may be best to wait until after the delivery before trying the head spa.

It is generally not recommended to consume alcohol before or during your Japanese head spa treatment. Additionally, alcohol can impair your ability to relax fully and might affect your overall experience.
